This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control your information across all CropSync services.
1. Introduction
CropSync ("we", "our", "us") provides IoT‑enabled agro advisory, including kiosks, mobile applications, and WhatsApp services. We are committed to protecting your personal information and using it responsibly in line with applicable laws, including India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
2. Information We Collect
Personal Information
- Name and contact details (phone, email)
- Identification (PIN/RFID card ID, farmer profile ID)
- Payment details for purchases (processed via secure providers)
- Location data for hyper‑local advisory (GPS or pincode)
Non‑Personal & Device Data
- Device/app information (model, OS version, app version)
- Log and analytics (IP, timestamps, feature usage)
- IoT sensor readings (weather station, soil, pest traps)
Where required, we will seek consent before collecting sensitive personal data.
3. How We Use Information
- Service delivery: Provide crop and input advisory, process orders, and operate kiosks and apps.
- Personalization: Tailor guidance by crop, stage, location, and past interactions.
- Communications: Send alerts, receipts, and updates via SMS/WhatsApp/email. Opt‑out anytime.
- Payments: Process transactions with PCI‑compliant partners; we do not store full card details.
- Improvement & safety: Monitor usage, prevent fraud/misuse, and improve model accuracy and uptime.
4. Sharing & Disclosure
- Service providers: Payments, logistics, cloud hosting, analytics under contracts with confidentiality and data‑only‑for‑purpose limits.
- Legal compliance: When required by applicable law or lawful requests.
- Business transfers: During merger, acquisition, or asset sale with notice and safeguards.
- No sale of personal data: We do not sell personal information.
5. Data Security
We use technical and organizational safeguards such as encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, audit logging, and employee training. Despite safeguards, no method is 100% secure.

- Access, correction, deletion, and data portability.
- Withdraw consent for specific processing where consent is the basis.
- Object to or restrict processing under certain conditions.

Our apps and kiosks may link to third‑party websites or retailers. Their privacy practices are their own; review their policies before use.
9. Data Location & Retention
Data may be processed in India or other jurisdictions by vetted providers subject to contractual safeguards. We retain data only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, after which it is securely deleted or anonymized.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this policy. If changes are material, we will provide prominent notice within the app or kiosk interface. The “Updated” date above shows the latest revision.
